Belgium voted best place for expats to raise kids

The international bank HSBC held a survey of 4100 international expat clients regarding the general quality of living, social integration, scholing and daycare opportunities for their kids during their assignments abroad.
The report, titled Expat Explorer, covered 14 countries, indicated that on the topic of healthcare, schooling and daycare opportunities, Belgium came out on top.
Belgium ranked 10th two years ago on these topics, but made it to the top spot in 2010.
- A full 2/3 of the respondents claimed Belgium offered them better daycare opportunities for the kids than their home countries. The quality was higher and the medical costs much lower.
- 81% of the respondents also noted that the educational quality was higher than in their home country.
- 73% of the respondents send their kids to local school and not an international school.
